Welcome to Denver South! If you are interested in participating in a sport this upcoming school year, below is information you may need to know to get involved. We have many sports to choose from and we highly recommend getting involved as there are many benefits to participation in our Ravens Athletics program.

Tryouts Information

Official 2024-2025 Season Start Dates

• Fall Sports first official practice/tryouts will begin 8/12/2024.

  • *Boys Golf first official practice is 8/5/2024.

• Winter Sports first official practice/tryouts will begin 11/18/2024.

• Spring Sports first official practice/tryouts will begin 2/24/2025.

  • *Boys Swim and Boys Volleyball official practice will be 2/17/2025

2024-2025 CHSAA Calendar

In order to be cleared to participate, all student-athletes MUST:

1. Complete online registration & online payment – per sport, per season

   • Returning students: Log in to existing account, update registration & pay fees online

   • First Time students: Create a new profile online, complete the registration & pay fees online

2. Upload a current physical into FamilyID system; Email or mobile copies are not accepted.

Any DPS student who needs an annual physical for sports participation may call 303.602.8958 to reach the Denver Health School-Based Health line.  We are often able to schedule same-day or next appointments that are free to students and families.  If you would like more information or to complete our e-consent to enroll your student, click here.

Celebrating our students athletes

A candidate for lettering in any sport must meet the following requirements:

1. Meet all requirements set forth by the Denver Public Schools Athletic League.

2. Meet the individual requirements of the sport

3. Complete the season in good standing.

4. Have the recommendation of the coach and the principal.

Forfeitures and byes are not to count toward winning an award.

The principal and coach of the school concerned may award a 4-year meritorious service letter to a senior who has never lettered.

**If you are a transfer student from another high school, and will now attend Denver South, you must contact and meet with the Athletic Director Email Rachel Goss for further guidelines and paperwork.

Online Registration opens 3 weeks before the season, do not wait until the start date to register & get cleared.

DPS schools collect game admission generally for inside sports, and those held at All-City Stadium (basketball, gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, wrestling, track)

Admission Prices*

• $5.00 for Adults

• $3.00 for students with ID

• $1.00 for Senior Citizens (65 and +)

• $1.00 for Elementary students

• FREE for children under 3

• FREE for athletes with their sticker

*Subject to change per DPS policies. Post-season game and tournament admission prices may be different.
*Parents can purchase an Annual DPS Individual Adult Athletic Ticket for $60 in room 128 that will grant them admission to all League Contests throughout a school year. This can be paid via MySchool Bucks or with cash/check in person.
