Dear DPS Community,

In support of the launch of our long-term safety plan in June, I am excited to share that we have been digging into Youth Violence Prevention work in deep collaboration with the City of Denver and community-based organizations.

I want you to know that as we continue to move this work forward, we are working to create a culture where all groups of caring adults understand how they can use their strengths to support youth.

With this in mind, you will see monthly communications inviting you to participate in our Youth Violence Prevention Thought Exchange. In these monthly communications, we will share a summary of the previous month’s efforts and will ask for your feedback. We will then seek to address your feedback in the work group meetings the following month, and share what we are doing.

For those who would prefer to be more hands-on with the work, you may ask to join our youth violence prevention work groups and/or advisory panels. Learn more here. If you would be interested in joining the work groups or advisory panels, please contact June Marcel

In the meantime, please engage with our Thought Exchange by providing your thoughts about Youth Violence Prevention here.

Sincerely,

Greg Cazzell
Chief of Climate and Safety
