The Denver Public Schools Student Voice and Leadership team is excited to once again host its Challenge 5280 Summit to be held on Friday, April 26, at the McNichols Civic Center Building.
Challenge 5280 is an opportunity for student leaders to present policy solutions, facilitate educational workshops and generate a call to action for their school communities. This summit is the culmination of their year-long work and provides the opportunity for the community to learn from students about policy solutions to the educational system and to identify areas for future collaboration.
Unique this year, the program and student-led solutions has garnished a partnership with
2892 Miles to Go, a place-based education program backed by the National Geographic Society which provides opportunities for youth to collaborate with local leaders, educators, advocates, and change-makers to reclaim community histories and stories together.
There will be two DPS student teams participating in the summit, the Manual High School Team and the Young African American and Latinx Leaders (YAALL) Team, both open to the public.
Photo, video, and interview opportunities will be available.
