Dear DPS Community,

At DPS, we strive for continual improvement and you, our community, play a critical role in informing how we can enact positive change in our schools. In March, we administered the “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Student Survey to all third- through 12th-graders in the district. The survey gauged the extent to which our students feel engaged, healthy, safe, welcome, cultural and linguistic pride, and a sense of agency.

Survey results from the spring Student Survey (as well as the fall Family Survey) are available here and in all Consent Decree languages. Follow this guide to access the survey results (and the DPS website) in your language.

This year, we heard from 36,202 students -- a 90% increase from last year and our highest participation rate in recent years. The insights from feedback received will serve as a foundation for collaborative efforts to enhance our programs and support services, and ultimately improve the Student Experience.

School leaders have received their survey results and will work to address themes revealed in their data when they return from summer break.

At the district level, work will continue over the summer to improve the “Your Voice/Tu Voz” survey experience to ensure we receive responses from more students and families next year. Your input is invaluable and demonstrates a shared dedication to community engagement and student success. Thank you for helping us utilize the surveys as tools to identify areas of growth.

I also want to thank school Site Assessment Leaders (SALs) and school staff who coordinated to empower families and students to share their thoughts through the surveys. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and uphold our commitment to providing outstanding education so Every Learner Thrives.

In collaboration,

Dr. Alex Marrero
Superintendent
