As a DPS school, we are required to have a Black Excellence Plan as part of our yearly school strategic plan. This requirement began in 2020, and we see it as more than a requirement. We are thrilled to put our vision into by dismantling oppressive systems and structures and elevating the voices of our Black and African-American students and families. 

• Centennial’s Black Excellence Plan Draft Vision: In collaboration with families, Centennial will disrupt racist mindsets, beliefs, behaviors and systems so that our Black & African-American students and families feel valued and honored for their perspectives and contribution to our school. Our Black & African-American students will feel celebrated and supported as they continue to develop their learning habits and academics at Centennial. 

• Our staff professional development, community work, focus groups with students, and families all in support of our Black Excellence Plan work.
