Our counselors have many jobs, including:
Helping students explore career areas that interest them, and navigate their college and career options
Giving individualized guidance to students as they develop study habits and 21st-century skills
Supporting students social and emotional well-being, with guidance through bullying, conflicts and other needs
Providing valuable support during the college application process, with everything from how to write a college essay to applying for financial assistance
Connecting with students after graduation to ensure they are on track to enter the college and career path of their choice, such as an apprenticeship, college, trade school or military service
Working with other partners in students’ education — parents, teachers and other school staff — to help students succeed
Advising students on scheduling; assess student abilities and aid in appropriate course placement
Pinpointing growth opportunities, help students set goals and a plan to achieve
Improving the overall school environment to create a positive, enriched atmosphere that fosters a lifelong love of learning
