Whether you are interested in becoming a teacher, an early childhood provider, a child psychologist, or you’d like to obtain skills in medical pediatrics or parenting you will learn valuable techniques in this pathway. Through a variety of activities, students will acquire skills necessary to work with the “whole child.” You will learn about the stages of development, from infancy to adolescence (social-emotional, intellectual, and physical). You’ll also learn about student motivation/ownership, learning styles/preferences, multicultural/ethnic diversity, social justice, and about numerous topics and/or concerns relating to children, families, and parenting. This is a class that will benefit students as you move into adulthood and /or careers involving children.
