Transition Advisory Team
The second phase of Superintendent Marrero’s transition process begins with the Transition Team, which is a diverse group of community members and DPS staff who are charged with creating recommendations that guide the development of our next multi-year strategic plan.
The recommendations from the Transition Advisory Team will build the foundation for the next phase of work, the Superintendent’s New Strategic Plan Advisory Team, which will be charged with the development of a new multi-year strategic plan.
Student Experience and Achievement
Subcommittee Chair: Maria del Carmen Salazar, Ph.D.
The Student Experience and Achievement subcommittee includes 21 Transition Advisory Team members who are charged with analyzing district data through the lens of our DPS students. Subcommittee members include DPS parents, community members, alumni, teachers, advocates, school leaders and central office team members.
Equity and Excellence
Subcommittee Chair: Brenda J. Allen, Ph.D.
The Equity and Excellence subcommittee includes 21 Transition Advisory Team members who are charged with analyzing district data through the lens of equity. Subcommittee members include DPS teachers, community members, university staff, central office team members and advocates.
Operational Effectiveness
Subcommittee Chair: Ron G. Cabrera, Ph.D.
The Operational Effectiveness subcommittee includes 21 Transition Advisory Team members who are charged with analyzing district data through the lens of operations and efficacy. Subcommittee members include DPS teachers, school leaders, central office team members, community members, athletics team members, advocates and city partners.
