Dual Language Program

John F. Kennedy High School is proud to be one of the few schools in the Denver area to offer students the opportunity to learn curriculum courses in Spanish.

Overview

John F. Kennedy’s designation is changing from ELA-E with ELA-S Resource to Transitional Native Language Instruction, or TNLI, for the 2023-24 school year. Incoming 9th graders who have indicated that they would like bilingual instruction will be enrolled in ELA-S Biology and Spanish Language Arts.

Multi-language learners below the "intermediate" level are increasing. JFK currently has 100+ students who are a part of this population. This is an increase that has been surfacing over time, which is why the program designation change will occur as part of a roll out plan.
